About Product
Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Gates solve one of the biggest challenges in modern public transport systems: moving large volumes of passengers quickly while ensuring that only authorized commuters gain access. They help transit operators reduce fare evasion, improve passenger throughput, and maintain reliable access control without slowing station operations.
Aurotoshi manufactures Automatic Fare Collection Gates in flap and swing variants for metro stations, BRTS, airports, and other mass transit applications. Designed for continuous operation under high passenger traffic, the gates integrate seamlessly with QR code, token, smart card, and other ticketing systems, while incorporating advanced safety features, emergency fail-safe operation, and durable stainless-steel construction for long service life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common queries from facility managers, procurement heads, and plant engineers.
An AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gate controls passenger movement between the unpaid and paid areas of a transit station. It reads a valid ticket, opens for the passenger, and blocks anyone attempting to enter without paying. Aurotoshi makes two types: a swing gate and a retractable flap gate.
The swing gate (Auro-TA-SBAFC) uses polycarbonate, glass or PU swing flaps on a servo drive, with aisle clearances of 550 mm and 900 mm. The flap gate (Auro-TA-FBAFC) uses soft polyurethane retractable wings on a PMDC drive, with 550 mm and 850 mm aisles. Both offer the same throughput, detection and ticket-media support.
Both types read contactless smart cards (CSC), EMV bank cards and paper QR codes, and integrate with project-specific ticketing systems.
Each gate uses 16 pairs of IR sensors to detect intrusion, tailgating, piggybacking, wrong-way movement and child passage. Anti-tailgating and anti-pass-back are standard, with audio and visual alerts to station staff.
Both gate types handle 40 to 45 passengers per minute, with an opening and closing time under 0.5 second.
Yes. Sensors near the flaps stop them closing on a passenger standing in the aisle. The soft PU wings absorb impact, and in an emergency the barrier can be pushed open with a force of 250 N. On power failure or fire alarm, the gates open for safe evacuation.
Yes. Both types integrate with station ticketing over serial connection (RS 232) and support fire-alarm integration and normally-open or normally-closed operation per the transit operator's requirement.
Yes. Aurotoshi is an OEM and ODM manufacturer supplying transit operators, system integrators and EPC contractors, with project-specific customisation and documentation available on request.
