A spike tyre killer is a surface-mounted, electro-mechanical spike barrier installed at controlled entry lanes. It raises spikes to immobilise unauthorised vehicles and retracts flush so cleared vehicles pass unhindered. It is used at military bases, embassies, oil refineries, airports, power plants and other high-security sites.
The Auro-TA-TK carries a 25-ton vehicle load, so cleared heavy vehicles pass over the retracted unit without damage. The body is built from MS flats of 25 mm thickness.
It supports manual, automatic and remote triggering. Opening and closing takes 6 to 10 seconds. Optional devices include a smart card reader, optical beam sensor, loop detector and biometric access.
The block is modular from 3000 to 6000 mm to suit varying road and lane widths. Width is 881 mm and installation depth is 135 mm.
Spikes measure 215 x 25 mm and stand 90 to 110 mm above the block, spaced 103.75 mm apart.
